The Engineering Design Process is a big deal in robotics. It’s very important to be able to think through and solve problems—sometimes on the fly! For example, we’re getting ready for our upcoming competition in just over a week, and our robot is two inches too long. (Every bot has to be able to fit into an 18 x 18-inch cube to be able to compete).
But through some quick EDP, Sparker Kyle was able to solve the problem by—no, not cutting into the metal, which was suggested by one of the team coaches—but by moving the arm structure back on the bot. Ta-da, problem solved!
